These common words name various parts of the human body in Spanish. Most of these words are used in everyday speech and are useful in many situations, including describing ailments and when visiting the doctor. Note that when referring to parts of the body in Spanish, we generally use the definite article (el, los, la, las) rather than a possessive pronoun. For example, 'I have a pain in the hand' not 'I have a pain in my hand'.
