The indirect object pronoun in Spanish is used to replace the noun to which an action refers. It is usually placed before the verb if the verb is conjugated. If the verb remains in the infinitive then the indirect object pronoun goes after the verb.
For example: The tamer brings food for the lions. ("the tamer” is the subject of the sentence and “the lions” is the ). El cuidador trae comida a los leones.

In Spanish, the indirect object pronoun is the person or thing for whom an action is being performed. In English it is identified by the words "to" or "for". For example: He is waiting for the bus. - He is waiting for IT.

Maria está hablando con él. - Maria is talking to him.
Maria quiere hablar con nosotros - Maria wants to talk to us
Maria nos quiere hablar. - Maria wants to talk to us.
Here is an example of an indirect object pronoun attached to the end of the infinitive verb:
Maria quiere comprar un pastel para Norma. (Maria wants to buy a cake for Norma) - Maria quiere comprarle un pastel. (Maria wants to buy her a cake).
